A closed vendor system, mirrored into a database you own

The problem
The operational data lived inside a vendor platform with no reporting worth the name and no way to ask a question the vendor had not anticipated. Every new question meant a support ticket and a wait.
What I built
An incremental mirror pulling through the vendor API into PostgreSQL, modeled on the standard healthcare interchange format. Twenty one versioned migrations, a bounded delta window proven by measurement rather than assumption, and a hard read-only contract against the source.
Result
Operational reporting now runs on a database the practice controls. Nothing writes back to the vendor system, by construction.
