Refund and cancellation policy
Work is paid through a Stripe invoice or an agreed payment link after a quote is accepted. This is what happens if plans change.
Before work starts
If either of us cancels before work starts, any prepayment is refunded in full.
After work has started
You pay for the work completed up to the cancellation, valued by the milestones in the quote, or in proportion to the work done if the quote has none. Anything prepaid above that is refunded.
Delivered work
Payments for delivered work are not refunded, but if the work does not do what its quote describes, report it within 30 days of delivery and I will fix it at no charge, as set out in the terms of service.
Canceling monthly maintenance
To stop renewal, email the contact address before the next charge and identify your invoice or subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and maintenance remains available until then. Future monthly charges stop; any amount charged after the effective cancellation is refunded. Requests concerning work not delivered or defects are handled under the provisions above. Your rights to the already paid website do not depend on keeping the maintenance subscription.
How refunds are paid
I start an agreed refund within 5 business days. A card payment goes back through Stripe to the same card. For a bank transfer, Stripe asks you by email for the account to refund to, unless it already has it from the transfer. If Stripe cannot make the refund, for example for an international (SWIFT) wire or a bank transfer more than 180 days old, I ask for your bank details and send the money myself. How quickly the money then appears depends on your bank.
How to ask
Email the address at the bottom of this page with your invoice number. I reply within 2 business days. Please contact me before opening a dispute with your bank; most questions are settled faster that way.
