The problem
Federal aid has an unforgiving rulebook: eligibility files, award packaging, drawdowns, disbursement reporting, withdrawal recalculations. The work lived across spreadsheets and portals, and a single missed step is an audit finding.
What I built
A platform covering intake through disbursement, wired into the student information system, the tuition financing provider, bank verification and state grant data. Rules that regulators check are expressed once, in code, and every calculation keeps the inputs it was made from.
Result
The department works inside one system with an audit trail behind every award. The largest codebase in the platform and the one with the hardest correctness requirements.
